Data Marketing Program 7

2021年7月29日 07時08分

On Tuesday, June 15th, Kyoko YANO chief director and three other staff members, Promotion Sales and Marketing Division of Fuji Inc., and Masahiko AKAO chief director and two other staff members, Information Services Promotion Division of Seki Inc., came to our school. Also, with ZOOM, Mr. KARASUDANI Deputy Director of True Data Analytics Solutions, Inc., Fumikazu ONISHI Executive Director of Fuji Inc., Hirotaka SEKI President of Seki Corporation, and Mr. SHIRAISHI, a graduate of our school and student of Tokyo University, participated in this meeting online.

Today's lecture was given by Mr. KARASUDABU, Deputy Director of True Data Analytics Solutions, Inc., on measures to improve sales based on purchase data.  The contents of this lecture were ①Key Performance Indicator settings, ②Sales analysis tree, ③Considering customer-contact points at 5W1H, ④Steps for action, ⑤Keywords for product appeal, and ⑥·Examples of AI-based comments for applications

We were given an example and he explained to us the sales analysis tree, the steps for action, the categories of trend loading, and keywords for product-appeal.  Then we created a sales analysis tree based on the customer profile we created so far, and thought about why, what, when, where, and how (to have customers purchase) as action steps to increase the number of purchases.

From now on, we will further discuss "Sales Analysis Tree", "Steps for Action in 5W1H" and "Appealing Keywords" based on the purchase data of each customer type.  And we will analyze what day of the week, what time zone of the day, and what kind of policy to customers is better to increase the number of customer-visits and purchases based on the contents of the previous lectures on promotional activities. Finally, we will consider target and product department that each section has been in charge of.

Next time, we will hold an exchange meeting with three companies where students can discuss questions while considering measures.

I was surprised that I could read a lot of things from the purchase data, and it could be schematically represented as an analysis tree.  I would like to take advantage of what I was taught in the lecture and think about measures.   (202 Ryoya IKEDA)

Data Marketing Program 6

2021年7月29日 07時02分

This year, Matsuyama Minami High school has been doing the Data Marketing Program cooperating with FUJI Co LTD, SEKI Co LTD and True Data Co LTD. (From 2021/03 to 2021/10)
On Tuesday, June 8, the sixth seminar was held with four staff members from FUJI Co, LTD including Executive Fumikazu ONISHI and three staff members form SEKI Co LTD including President Hirotaka SEKI. Also through ZOOM, four staff members form True Data Co LTD including Mr. KARASUDANI and Mr. IZUMI, who were advisers of the fifth seminar, and Mr. SHIRAISHI, a graduate of our high school and student of Tokyo University.  This time, the lectures on “Retail Promotion” were done by Ms. Yano and Mr. Iwamoto.

The contents of the lecture are following:

“Retail Promotion” about ‘The role of Promotion about retail,’ ‘Kinds and features about Promotion,’ ‘The relationships between sales floor and Promotion,’ and ‘Measures.’

“Targets” to ‘Announcement to Customer Types,’ ‘Categories of goods,’ ‘Which group to handle,’ ‘Reasons, features and Suggestions about customer types which we should aim at,’ ‘Current Status of Promotion at the stores,’

The role of Promotion about retail is following:
 Acknowledge → Interest / Concern → Comparison / Consideration → Select.

Mr. Iwamoto taught us that these approaches are very important while we are thinking about the relationships with our customers, using a procedure of falling in love as an example.
When he talked about ”Kinds and features about Promotion,” he showed us Flyers, DMs, receipts, POP advertisements, HP, SNS, and real fruits, which are really using at a store.  And he added advantages and disadvantages about those things.
When he talked about “The relationship between sales floor and Promotion,”  he explained to us "classic," "end," "flatbed," "exhibition hall," "overhang," "menus," "flyers and sales floors," "digital devices and sale floors."  What matters most is customers have interest in our store.
When we use some “Measures,” without enough preparation, these will not bring good results. They told us that we should think about measures carefully.

Next time, we will have a lecture on "The contents about field work," which will be given by a staff member of True Data Co LTD.  And we will put our plans into practice at a store.

I couldn’t read the data at all at first. However I was able to read the date because thanks to the many people who taught me and cooperated with the group. I want to do my best. (203 Kanato ONISHI)

8/13 competition of the health data analytics and management

2020年8月27日 14時50分

Students and teachers from Matsuyama minami high school took part in the competition of the health data analytics and management on August 7th. We got some lectures from Mr. Murakami Makoto, Mr. Yamaguchi Kazunori and Mr. Takahashi Kunihiko.

People’s daily life has changed due to the influence of the coronavirus. We can see relations of several data by gathering information as graphs. We also can see new problems. Though the data seem to be correct at first, we find wrong calculation or incorrect comparing. I thought it was important that persons who receive data have to think from many directions and to read information properly. I want to read many data in order to improve my ability to judge and understand properly the data. ( Nishioka Aika)

It was exciting and interesting for me to be able to derive what people are demanding from user data analysis and statistical data from FiNC apps. As Mr.Yamaguchi said, I thought it is necessary to approach the truth from statistics and control risk, how to read, act and convey data, so I also try to investigate and think about it by myself.

2020/06/11 DS

2020年6月12日 16時01分

First year students in science and mathematics course have continued to learn about “Data Science” since last week.  We thought that we would need to reach conclusions from concrete data.  For example, “Seventy-three out of one hundred people like chocolate.”  From this data, can we say that the cause of bad teeth is chocolate?  If not, what other data is needed?  I pray that it will not be the cause of bad teeth.

I learned that I must not judge only by figures.  I want to use these figures in a research program to get a reliable conclusion.   ( 109HR  Sae Shingu )

October 31st (Thu) SSH Fieldwork in the United States ~Day 3~

2020年1月3日 08時19分

Today is the second day of our training at UCON.  In the morning we had a workshop with Woodstock Academy students continuing from yesterday.
In the experiment, first, we confirmed light emission by electron transfer.  Next, we measured the absorption spectrums of light and compared them.  We worked with the group members to prepare solutions and measured spectral peaks of wavelengths.  We were able to improve the experiment communicating in English.
In the afternoon, Dr. Mani reviewed the two-day experiment and then he gave a lecture on his research.  Yesterday’s and Today’s experiments are both called “electron transfer reactions.”  They were related to the contents of the 1992 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, so Dr. Mani gave us a detail of these principals.  He also explained Mr.Jason’s research, who belongs to his laboratory.  After that, we asked Dr. Mani why he chose an overseas university.  We also asked his ways of thinking as a researcher and so on.  We were able to listen to a lot of very useful stories from Dr. Mani and felt happy.
Thanks to Dr. Mani, we were able to spend two whole days at UCON.  We would like to thank Dr. Mani and make the best use of what we learned and experienced in UCON in the future.

Fujiie Ai, a second year student in the science course, joins Global Science Camp (GSC) Hiroshima step up stage.  She participated in the fieldwork in Taiwan from September 9th (Mon) to 11th (Wed).  The following is her report about the fieldwork.
I joined the fieldwork in Taiwan, one of the activities of GSC Hiroshima.  Two girl students who live in Hiroshima and I joined it.  We only transported on the first day.  I left for Matsuyama airport in Taiwan from Matsuyama airport in Ehime.  I joined two girls on the way.  The typhoon delayed our transfer.  However we safely arrived at Taipei.  After arriving there, we left for Yilan.  I visited Taiwan on my school trip in May.  So I felt nostalgic about the unique smell like Taipei.  But the atmosphere there was different from that of Taipei.
Second day, we visited National Lan-Yang Girls’ Senior High School.  I made a presentation about glaze of Tobe-yaki I study.  It was my first presentation in English.  So I was very nervous.  The students there enjoyed not only their studies but their presentations.  This experience inspired me very much.  After that, we enjoyed English class and took various scientific seminars mixed with art.
When I joined group activities, I was a little bit overwhelmed by their English skills.  However, I used English as much as I can and gestures to have a good communication with them.  Thanks to it, I made many friends.  I realized my week points of English.  I want to continue studying hard.
Third day was a homecoming day.  We had a frightening experience.  The plane we boarded tried to land on Haneda airport again and again. However, I finally  arrived at Matsuyama safely.  I had a lot of experiences.  I deepened bonds with friends, met “Rike-jo” in Taiwan , and so on.  I want to spend my school life happily and study hard.
I thanked my teachers in Hiroshima.  They guided me during the fieldwork in Taiwan.

September 2nd(Mon)“Codon Letter Project” organized by Kansai University

2019年11月8日 07時01分

Codon is the genetic code which is the set of rules used by living cells to translate information encoded within genetic material into proteins. Our school has joined “Codon Letter Project” organized by Kansai University since this April.  This time, high school students living in other prefectures joined this project and wrote 20 codon letters in code.  Students decoded them in pairs.  Dr. Toda, a professor at Kansai university and Dr. Honda, a professor at Otsuma women’s university visited our school.  Students discussed how to decipher codes efficiently in pairs.  They deciphered their codon letters having fun.  After that, they introduced their decoded codon letters to other groups using “Loi Lo Note.”  They tried deciphering codon letters they couldn’t read in collaboration.  Through these experience they felt mysteries of translation that was carried out in a human body.  They got motivated to deepen their understandings.

August 26th (Mon) Tobe-yaki group (From Icho-girls to Ume-chans)

2019年10月13日 16時16分

Last year, the students of Tobe branch school made a broach using the glaze which Icho (ginkgo in English)-girls made with leaves of ginkgo trees in Matsuyama Minami High School.  When they sold the broaches in their school festival, they received a high evaluation! (There is a picture below.)
By the way, this year Ume (plum in English)-chans are going to produce a small dish with the glaze made from branches of Nanaore plums in Tobe Town.  The other day, the first trial products were made by Ume-chans.  They used small unglazed pots made by students of Tobe branch school.  By using ash (burned plums) containing iron, they made a green glaze.  When they mixed it with feldspar, its color turns into white.  They will continue making pots with this glaze, making improvements of it.
Although the report of Ume-chans has been stopped temporarily, their research is going well.  I am planning to report it again.  And they want to make not only the glaze that Icho-girls and Ume-chans hope but also the glaze that students of Tobe branch school want to use.
They will try to make fascinating “Tobe-yaki.”  They would like to ask continued support.      They are going to sell their small dishes in the school festival of Tobe branch high school on Saturday, November 9th.  Please look forward to seeing their dishes then.                     (201HR     H.Y.)
