Online Conference for the Science Division of the National High School Arts Festival in 2020
2020年7月6日 16時37分 On July 5th We took part in an online conference for the Science Division of the National High School Arts Festival in 2020 hosted by Matsuyama Minami High School. This year we had a zoom conference to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. 135 high school students from 15 high schools in Ehime Prefecture took part in this online conference. First, the vice principal at our school, Mr. Shigematsu gave us a lecture on a research project ranging from how to find a research subject to how to find a solution to the problem. In the remote workshop, he talked about how to discover the causes of the mysterious phenomena happening around us. We also worked on the assignments given by Mr. Shigematsu at each school and then gave presentations online. We were able to share various opinions and deepen our understanding.
In the latter half of the conference, representative students of Ehime Prefecture made a presentation on each research topic and had question-answer sessions. The students selected from the fields of physics, chemistry, biology and geology gave unique presentations. Students actively exchanged questions and answers, which deepened their understanding of their research. The students, representing biology, made an ingenious presentation about parantica sita and received many questions. This time it was an online workshop but it gave us a great chance to acquire basic skills to research a project.
We had some difficulty with online presentation because of the device problems but this seminar let us find a new potential. ( 309HR Ryunosuke Hanaoka )
I learned from the presentation by Mr. Shigematsu that it is very important in research to have questions about what we think is common sense. ( 309HR Hiroto Shiraishi )
This time I made a presentation about parantica Sita. This online conference became a great opportunity for me to consider new kinds of presentations. ( 309HR Yutaka Yamazaki )
