Hawaii tourism promotional activities

2024年9月10日 17時28分

As a part of the Hawaii tourism promotional activities, an observation team comprised of Governor Josh Green and 15 others visited Ehime prefecture, and in particular our high school. A ceremony and campus tour were held as described below. Welcoming them were mainly students from ESS. In his speech the Governor emphasized the deepening of the relationship between Hawaii and Ehime as well as his feelings about the Ehime Maru Accident and the bereaved families.
Indeed, through last December's school trip to Hawaii, Waipahu High School's visit to our school in June, and the visit by the Governor's observation team to our school this time, the relationship between our high school and Hawaii has never been deeper.

I was the ceremony's host speaker for this time's exchange session.  Although I was nervous, I was able to proceed smoothly thanks to my hard practice.  The Governor and his party were very friendly people, so I was able to relax immediately and fully enjoy this opportunity.  This experience gave me confidence in my English skills and made me want to study harder to improve my English even further.  ( 208HR SHINOHARA)

Participation in the 26th research publication competition of high schools for science and mathematics in Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu

2024年8月22日 17時26分

We participated in the 26th research publication competition of high schools for science and mathematics in Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu held in Shimane Prefecture from 19 to 21 August.
The "Kobukuro" group presented their poster, and the "Ginkgo" group gave a presentation on the stage.  We were able to confidently present our research to many students and university professors from other prefectures. The Q&A session also gave us new perspectives that will lead to the development of our research, so the time we spent was meaningful.
Based on what we learned this time, we will continue to work on our future activities. the research presentations by other high school students were all very interesting. We also discovered new things through talking with scientific experts.

This experience made us grow. Thank you for giving us this opportunity.

Winning the Poster Presentation Award at the 2024 Super Science High School Student Research Presentation Meeting

2024年8月8日 17時23分

The Wave Group from the third-years on the science and mathematics course participated in the 2024 Super Science High School Student Research Presentation meeting held at the Kobe International Exhibition Hall on August 7th and 8th, ultimately winning the Poster Presentation Award. The session lasted a total of 3 hours, during which all our students engaged in  question-and-answer sessions together with the judges, students from other high schools, and their teachers. Our students enthusiastically explained their research to visitors at their booth, in which those listening showed great interest. We also received many valuable comments and suggestions regarding our measuring instruments as well as other ideas to improve our research.

Despite having only just returned from the Gifu Sobun the previous weekend, they persisted splendidly until the end of the session. Participating students said that the group were able to adapt their explanations flexibly to the listeners understandings.  ( 309 KUSUNO )

As a result, our school received the Commissioner for Cultural Affairs Award (Excellence Prize)

I felt very happy to be able to present the results of my research, on which I have been working with the cooperation of many people, on such a grand stage. In the future I would like to continue compiling research papers and take on further challenges. ( 309 KUSUNO )
