AOM from Ehime University came all the way to give us how to make good scientific presentation. She is very kind to show some tips to make their presentations more attractive. After a general session, she gave some hints to make better presentations. All the students of 109 were very energetic to learn from her. They will absolutely give us good presentations on January 23rd.

The Natural Sciences Division Presentation of the Ehime Prefecture High School Comprehensive Cultural Festival

2024年11月16日 19時00分

On Saturday, November 16th, the Natural Sciences Division Presentation of the Ehime Prefecture High School Comprehensive Cultural Festival was held at the Ehime Prefecture General Sciences Museum in Niihama City. Seven teams from the second-year science and mathematics course of our school participated in the event.

In the morning, poster sessions were held for each specialized field, and in the afternoon, digital poster presentations were conducted by teams that had already advanced past the preliminary round. The presentations were strictly limited to 4 minutes, with an additional 4 minutes for Q&A. Despite these time constraints, our students actively engaged in both their presentations and the Q&A sessions, making it, we think, a meaningful experience.

Additionally, by observing poster presentations from other schools, we gained valuable insights that will help us improve the quality of our own poster presentations in the future.

Participation Record: Japan Super Science Fair 2024 (JSSF2024)

2024年11月14日 18時00分

Two second-year students from our science and mathematics course participated in an event sponsored by Ritsumeikan High School. A total of 37 schools from 21 countries gathered from Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Vietnam, and Japan.

The theme of this year's JSSF was "Beyond the Horizon". Through various scientific exchanges, including Oral presentations and poster sessions, we were able to experience high level research on global issues of our generation and to come into contact with diverse points of view.
On Day 4, each group went sightseeing in Kyoto and was able to cultivate friendships that went "Beyond national borders”. On the other hand, we were overwhelmed by the speed of communication in English, especially its speed. In addition to making use of this experience in our future English learning, we would like to take on the challenge of "turning failure into growth" in international development projects such as Taiwanese scientific exchange.

Lastly, I still can't get out of my mind what a Russian high school student said at the closing ceremony, "Everyone gathered here may be of different nationalities, but we should have the same goal of improving society as much as possible."

I was able to have an invaluable experience over those 5 days. I was impressed by the behavior of the Ritsumeikan High School students, who were extremely active. Another thing that particularly sticks in my mind is just how friendly the students at the buddy school in Thailand were. I would like to once again express my great respect to Ritsumeikan High School, which has led the SSH activities for 23 years. - 209 HOSODA

World Tsunami Awareness Day

2024年10月23日 18時00分

Two students from our science course and one student from our general course participated in the High School Students Summit on “World Tsunami Awareness Day”.They, that is, we made a presentation that we have been preparing and practicing since summer vacation.

At the discussion, we made sure to express our opinions well; of course, in English. At the reception, Kumamon welcomed us.We interacted with many domestic and international participants. You can check up on the convention on their official YouTube.

At this summit, it was interesting to listen to the stories of high school students who have actually experienced disasters, as well as to understand the disaster measures of other countries. I also noticed just how important early recovery was for local reconstruction.  I realized that both development of social infrastructure and the spread of AI are necessary as advance preparation, because disasters can happen anytime.  Through this experience, I would like to continue thinking about what I can do as a high school student.
