The Physics club has worked on a project to create a diorama of Matsuyama Castle, and has completed a prototype of the diorama. This was produced by the request of Matsuyama City as an educational material to introduce Matsuyama Castle to visually impaired students visiting Matsuyama. This time, we had people from Matsuyama blind school actually touch the product and give us their opinions. ■
I was happy to receive a feedback that it made them want to visit Matsuyama Castle again. We would like to improve and complete the castle. (209HR Tomoi Ayato)
We participated in Ehime Science Challenge 2024 on February 4th at Ehime University. There, we summarized and presented our research results using posters and listened to presentations by students from other schools. It was a very good experience.
2023 Gather! The Science Research Presentation Exchange Meeting (Online National Conference) for Girls in Science (organised by Notre Dame Seishin Gakuen Seishin Junior High School and Seishin Girls’ Senior High School) was held on February 3rd (Saturday), using an online conference system called “oVice”, in which each student moved an avatar in a virtual presentation room. From our school, two groups of second-year science and mathematics students presented their current research projects. Through the presentation of the results of their daily scientific research activities, the students were able to exchange research across disciplines and regions and deepen friendship and camaraderie among female science students. ■
I could broaden my perspecvtive of the world by listening to other science girls and female scientists. (209HR JINNO Maho)
On January 26th, the Ehime Super High School Consortium was held at Camelia Hall, Matsuyama City Community Center and we participated in it as a representative student for Super Science High school Project.
A panel discussion titled “High School Students’ Ideas for Regional Revitalization in Ehime Chuyo” was held.
Tomoi, a second-year student in the science and mathematics and I took part in it. I have gained valuable experience through this. I had the chance to think deeply about things around me that I didn’t normally think about.■
I am going to make most of this experience for my future. (209 HOKIGUCHI)
Two teams participated in the finals of the Natural Science Division of the Prefectural High School Literature Festival. We will go on to participate in Gifu Sohbun 2024
December 26, 2023 9:33 p.m.
Two physics research teams from our school, selected from 48 preliminary teams, participated in the final of the Natural Science Division of the Prefectural High School Festival held at Matsuyama Chuo High School on December 26. 4-minute presentations and 4-minute Q&A sessions were held. This year, the judges made many comments on the presentations, and the presenters, although nervous, were seen answering the questions carefully. The results of the judging were as follows:
“Sachet Team (Physics)” with Research Topic: “Development of sachet seasonings that do not splatter contents when opened” Encouragement Award
“Wave Team (Physics)” with Research Topic: “Conditions for resonance tubes with a wide natural frequency range” Excellence Award■
We had a good time. (209HR Kusuno Ginpei)
