   Today we have done the second SS.  Second graders of the science course prepared for their English presentations in Taiwan.  First graders learned basic techniques of experiments.  They reviewed basic operations of a microscope and conducted calculation of the sight.  They also observed some samples.  Though first graders have just started learning the base of research activities, we expect them to strengthen the foundation of the researching skills.  We hope their researches will advance smoothly.   (Aoyama   209HR)
   

   SC of this year started today.  The first graders of the science course performed basic experiments of science every Wednesday after school.  They do experiments and practice with university students and graduate students.  They also worked on training to do advanced research of SS.  In biological section, we practiced the basic operation of a microscope and the handling of a micrometer today.  That’s science course students!  They operate microscopes very quickly!    (John Does   209HR)

  A trouble with the microscope?

   Ehime University has held Global Science Campus to educate students in future generations who wants to play on a global stage as a scientist since last year.  Sixteen students of our high school were selected.  They has taken lectures since last September.  In addition, six students of them advanced the final stage and are now working on further research.  Kanno and Miyauchi, who are students of the science course, studied pollen fossils in New Zealand.  They were dispatched by Ehime University to New Zealand from March 24th to March 30th.  This year they appear on the GSC poster of Ehime University.  The professional photographer took their pictures.  Then they took the newspaper interview.
    We want them to solve scientific problems as future researchers while studying for an entrance examination of university.

Miyauchi (309HR) and Sugano (309HR) joined eGS (Global Science Campus of Ehime University) in New Zealand
   Miyauchi and Kanno stayed in New Zealand from March 24th to March 30th.  At first they visited GNA which is a research institute of geosciences.  Also, they went to forests and coasts and watched unique vegetation and the lays of the land.  New Zealand has a unique geology and strata of hundreds of millions of years ago near the coast are the center of the attention around the world.  They had great experiences that they couldn’t experience in Japan.
