    Today, second graders had researching activity, “SS.”  At first students received explanation of workshop in America.  This time the submission deadline of the research schedule is getting close.  Some students were thinking over their plan.  Others were collecting documents and considering the next experiment.  Each group did various activities.          (S.N.  Y.F  203HR)

     Spider group: They got spider’s thread and check strength
     Osmotic pressure group: They consider by using a molecular model
     Glaze group: They search chemicals which generate colors
     Heavy metal group: They make their plan and do their experiment, getting shells to absorb heavy metal
     Mathematics group: He checks the previous studies
     Block wall group: they examine experimental methods.

   On June ninth, GSC Hiroshima Pop Stage second seminar was held.  Our students took three lectures, “Scientific literacy,” “Researchers’ ethics,” and “Scientific lecture meeting.”  Lectures are deep and interesting with active learning.  It was stimulating day for them.  Now they start writing reports hard!

    Second graders finished mid-term examinations and their school trip.  They have started SS in full swing.
    Students advanced their research by using reference documents or looking back previous studies.  Some groups consider their plans of this year.  The other groups did their further experiments.

    Today First graders’ CR was held as a part of “diagnosis of basic academic skills for high school students.”  Mr. Maeda, a staff of Benesse Corporation, came to our school.  Students reviewed their results of academic ability research that was held soon after their entering high school.  Also, Mr. Maeda proposed specific plans to improve their ways of studying.
   They were grateful to Mr. Maeda for his lecture!
