May 26th (Sun) Global Science Campus Hiroshima (GSC Hiroshima)

2019年6月27日 14時48分

Nine students of first and second graders (science course) took part in GSC Hiroshima organized by Hiroshima University on May 26th.
This program has three steps.  These are Hop (lecture), Step (seminars of different fields and English poster presentations), Jump (Lab education in laboratories and overseas training programs).  Hop stage is held twice, this time and June 9th.  Teachers taught them how to set themes of scientific research in detail.  Students learned research ethics and cutting-edge of study on regenerative medicine by using Mobius strip.  It was very inspiring.  After the lecture, our school students eagerly asked teachers their questions.

May 16th (Thu) School Trip

2019年6月27日 13時16分

Second graders of science course went to school trip and interacted with students in Taiwan.

Our school students (science course) visited Taipei Municipal Jianguo Senior High School (our sister school) and struck up a friendship by exchanging scientific opinions.  They made scientific presentations and participated in classes.  This is the ninth visit there.  We started collaborative research on this occasion.
On May 17th they also visited Taoyuan Municipal Wu Ling Senior High School in Taoyuan city.  They made presentations of their research and exchanged their scientific ideas.  This is the sixth visit there.

May 13th (Mon) Taipei Municipal Jianguo Senior High School Presentation Meeting (Day 2)

2019年6月18日 19時03分

It was the second day of the Presentation Meeting in Taiwan.  Students visited National Palace Museum in the morning.  That was their second visit.  They visited it last year for their school trip.  They viewed the museum as long as they could.  In the afternoon they visited Taipen Municipal Jianguo Senior High School and joined the Presentation Meeting.  After the ceremony and the video screening that students performed independently, our students made presentations about their research.  We think they did very well, showing the results of their practice.  Each students in our school had a guide student to show them around and these students were so polite.  After the presentation they said good-bye to each other, looking forward to seeing their host families.  Then they stayed at their host families.    Thank you for having them stay at night!   (A.T.  209HR)

May 12th (Sun) Taipei Municipal Jianguo Senior High School Presentation Meeting

2019年6月17日 18時48分

Five third graders of the science course left Matsuyama Airport on Sunday morning, May 12th and arrived at Taipei City.  They are going to attend the presentation meeting which is held at Taipei Municipal Jianguo Senior High School.
They transferred the plane at Haneda Airport and arrived at Shozan Airport in Taipei.  The temperature is over 30℃ and it is so humid.
They joined up with their guide and visited National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, which was built in honor of Chiang Kai-Shek.  Chiang Kai-Shek was the first president of Taiwan.  They learned his life, the background, and the history of Taiwan.  After that they ate dinner (Taiwanese food) and arrived at the hotel.  In the hotel, each group made a final check for tomorrow’s English presentation.

May 10th (Fri) The third SS (Super Science)

2019年6月17日 18時45分

Today we have the third SS class.  The second graders did not have any SS classes during the mid-term examination.   The first graders did chemical experiments.  They have identified a type of unknown metal ion by observing its chemical reaction.  They did it in safety and were surprised at the color changes and chemical reaction of the aqueous solution. By summarizing reactions, they could identify the type of the ion.  By doing these works accurately, they learned that they can obtain objective data.

They has just started the experiment
 What reaction did they watch?
