October 29th (Tue) SSH Fieldwork in the United States ~Day 1~

2019年12月26日 07時41分

Four second graders in the science course and a second grader in the general course participated in SSH Fieldwork in the United States.  They left Japan for Connecticut on October 28th.
After about 13-hour flight, they arrived at New York City at 4:50 p.m. on Monday.  After immigration, a local guide joined them.  They went to Connecticut.  It took a long time to pass through immigration.  They also got stuck in the traffic jam and arrived at the hotel over 9:30 p.m.  They took a break and prepared for the training at Connecticut University.

October 24th (Thu) Super Science at Ehime University

2019年12月25日 16時01分

On the afternoon of 24th October, students in the science course visited Ehime University and took a lecture.  A group of physics took the lecture about “Plasma and Light” by Professor Maehara.  They conducted the experiment, made the observation, and studied properties of plasma and practical examples of techniques.
21 students visited Johoku campus of Ehime University.  They studied research on Malaria there.  The lecture gave them not only knowledge of Malaria but also awareness of our future possibilities.  They got to know that we could synthesize protein.  They also learned the importance of decreasing infectious diseases to improve our lives.  After the lecture, they visited laboratories.  Thank you, stuffs in Proteo Science Center.

October 23rd (Wed) Experiences at laboratories

2019年12月25日 08時17分

Students visited 16 laboratories of Faculty of Science, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Collaborative Regional Innovation, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Medicine, Proteo Science Center, Academic Support center, and Center for Marine Environmental Studies at Ehime University on the afternoon of 23rd and 24th October.
First and second graders in the science course participated in lectures at each laboratory and conducted experiments, went out for field works, made an observation, programmed, and so on.  Although it was a short period of time, these experiences were good stimulus for students.

October 17th (Thu) Super Science (the science course) Umepper (Tobeyaki Group)

2019年12月25日 08時13分

Umepper, Tobeyaki Group of the first graders in the science course started their activities.  They got permission from the fire station and burned dried leaves of “nanaore-ume(plum)” which they received from Mr. Higashi working in “Nyogyo hojin Nanaore Ume Kumiai,” Nanaoreumefirm Inc.  They elutriated the clay.  We are looking forward to seeing a color of the graze.
They practiced making tast pieces by using ginkgo ash.

October 16th (Wed) Support Program for Training University Students as Teachers of Sciences

2019年12月18日 17時10分

We carried out the program which supported and trained a university student of sciences as a teacher on October 16th.  This is a part of collaboration projects between high schools and universities.  Yamane Yumi, a student in the chemistry course of the faculty of science at Ehime University, visited us.  “Focus on an effect of catalyst through a reaction of acetic acid” was today’s theme.  Through the experiment of organic synthesis, our students studied effects of catalysts from viewpoints of energy.  Although there were some advanced contents, each student used a tablet to keep record and cooperated for their tasks.  We think both our students and the university student had a very meaningful time.
