November 18th (Mon) Commendation Ceremony of Statistics Data Competition in 2019

2020年1月21日 15時25分

The commendation ceremony of statistics data competition was held at National Olympic Center On November 18th, 2019.  Third graders in the general course, Watanabe Ruriko and Yoshida Misaki who came second place, joined it.  The subject of their thesis is “Preparation against Nankai Trough earthquake: one in three disaster victims won’t be able to go to a shelter.  So, are medical service systems enough when the disaster happens?”
They plotted designated evacuation centers and clinics on the map with GIS.  To prepare against Nankai Trough earthquake, they point out that current shelter distribution has blank areas and distribution of clinics is irregular within a radius of 3 km from our school.  They also suggested we should improve new shelters like kindergartens and medical systems.

November 1st (Fri) SSH Fieldwork in the United States ~Day 5 and 6~

2020年1月4日 08時24分

Finally it was the last day of our fieldwork in the United States.  Under the blue sky, we left the hotel and arrived at Matsuyama Airport via John F. Kennedy International Airport, Narita Airport, and Haneda Airport at 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 2nd.  There was some troubles, but everyone returned safely.  We had completely different experiences in this 6 days of the fieldwork.  We want to make use of these experiences in our future school lives.  We’d like to thank Dr. Mani, everyone at Connecticut University, everyone at PridgePort Aquaculture Science and Technology, our tour conductor, and drivers.
