6/14 online meeting

   An online meeting was hosted by Matsuyama Higashi high school.  19 students from Matsuyama Minami high school took part in it.  The subject of the meeting was “To achieve SDG4 ―high quality education to every child all over the world―”.  We worked on some quizzes to learn about the educational situations around the world and discussed what we could.  Though it was held online, we could exchange our opinions earnestly.

   I learned that it was important for us to know more about the world correctly.  In addition, I will share my opinions with my friends.   ( 204HR  Yuto Yasuda)   
    
    

6/12 Communication English Ⅱ.

 First, we made a presentation titled “Comparison of cloth using light interference.”
Second, we heard the presentation by our ALT, titled “The differences between Eastern medicine and Western medicine”.  After listening to each presentation, we had questions and answers by using some effective words which we had learned in the lessons of Communication English Ⅱ.

 
   Through this class, I keenly realized my lack of English skills, because I couldn’t answer questions accurately.  So, I must improve my English skills.  In addition, I need to improve not only English but also my research.  ( 209HR  Yume Ninomiya )

 First year students in science and mathematics course have continued to learn about “Data Science” since last week.  We thought that we would need to reach conclusions from concrete data.  For example, “Seventy-three out of one hundred people like chocolate.”  From this data, can we say that the cause of bad teeth is chocolate?  If not, what other data is needed?  I pray that it will not be the cause of bad teeth.

 I learned that I must not judge only by figures.  I want to use these figures in a research program to get a reliable conclusion.   ( 109HR  Sae Shingu )
        
  

2020/06/05 “Data Science” for 1st year students

   Our school has a data science class and we started learning it in my class.  We watched a YouTube video of the finalist of Japan’s “regional revitalization reinvigoration of local economics” where students make new ideas.  We thought the original presentation was wonderful.  We learned how to use RESAS (Regional Economy Society Analyzing System) and we made graphs.

   I thought that it was difficult to understand the data, but when it became a graph, I found out it was easy to understand.  I want to make a wonderful presentation like our seniors.   ( 104HR  Misuzu Yano )                                       
 
      

2020/06/05 SS for students of science course

   First year students in the science course studied data science.  After the lesson on how to understand data and graphs, we made up a sightseeing plan for foreign visitors coming to Japan.  Our goal was to increase tourists to Ehime Prefecture with data from RESAS.

   I learned that I have to be careful when I use numbers.  Also, RESAS arranges a lot of data, so I will use it to research.  (109HR  Yuka Ozaki)
