8/13 competition of the health data analytics and management

2020年8月27日 14時50分

Students and teachers from Matsuyama minami high school took part in the competition of the health data analytics and management on August 7th. We got some lectures from Mr. Murakami Makoto, Mr. Yamaguchi Kazunori and Mr. Takahashi Kunihiko.

People’s daily life has changed due to the influence of the coronavirus. We can see relations of several data by gathering information as graphs. We also can see new problems. Though the data seem to be correct at first, we find wrong calculation or incorrect comparing. I thought it was important that persons who receive data have to think from many directions and to read information properly. I want to read many data in order to improve my ability to judge and understand properly the data. ( Nishioka Aika)

It was exciting and interesting for me to be able to derive what people are demanding from user data analysis and statistical data from FiNC apps. As Mr.Yamaguchi said, I thought it is necessary to approach the truth from statistics and control risk, how to read, act and convey data, so I also try to investigate and think about it by myself.

7/24 Science presentation contest

2020年8月6日 12時44分

On Friday, July 24, the Science presentation contest was held in Ehime Prefectural Museum of Science, and there the two groups of the 3rd grade students from the science course participated in the contest. Their presentations were about spider webs and Tobe-yaki pottery glazing.  The first group did a presentation about “How strong are spider webs?’’  When we were asked strong questions by university professors who were also the examiners, we could explain our research in our words.  The second did a poster presentation titled “Research of removing blue oxide by referencing the Zegal formula.’’  Our research on Tobe-yaki glazing seemed to interest the university professors.  We were awarded the Ehime Governor’s Prize in the poster section.
The Judges were university professors, high school teachers and other high school presenters.  They gave us their opinions and were helpful for our research and writing papers.  This contest was satisfying for us.

I was interested in the other teams’ presentations.  It was a good opportunity to let people know about our research.   (309HR Kana Watanabe)
I could present our research well and I’m glad to have got an award.  I could learn from the other groups.  (309HR Hibiki Kumatani)
I was happy we got the prize in the contest.  It was our last contest, so I was happy to get a good result.  I will make an effort to write a good paper on our research.   (309HR Masaki Yoshida)

7/22 SS Social Gathering

2020年7月30日 12時39分

A social event was held in SS periods for the students of our science course.
In the 6th period, representatives of the second grade students gave a presentation on their study in the Kansai region to the first grade students.
Using many pictures and quizzes, they introduced their activities, such as visiting the facilities and interacting with alumni, in an easy to understand manner. The presentation showed how well the class got along with each other. In the question and answer session, the students were able to talk frankly not only about the study in Kansai and research projects, but also about their school life in general.
In the 7th period, the second grade students gave a presentation on their current research. It gave important hints as to further research.
Due to the effects of the corona virus, it has been difficult for the first grade students to interact with other grades at school events, so this was a great opportunity for the first grade students to learn about school life in the science course directly from their seniors.

It was difficult to convey the content of our study in the presentation, but it was a good experience.  (209HR  Rei Onishi)
