Every year, poster presentations and exchange meetings are held at Ehime University, but from the perspective of preventing the spread of Covid-19, “Ehime Science Challenge 2020” has gone online.
This year, 202 students from 21 different high schools submitted a total of 63 research themes, 37 in the general category and 26 in the program category, and in conjunction with the release of the presentation videos on February 7, an online networking event was held for the participant of the Science Challenge. During this exchange, the participants were divided into five areas: mathematics, information, physics, chemistry, biology, and geology, and introduced each other’s research that they had been working hard on, despite on-going pandemic, and asked each other questions. Graduate students from Ehime University also participated as hosts, and it was a meaningful time for them to sick sharp questions about their research from the graduate students’ point of view, and to ask questions about their research and university life. On January 30th, Saturday, “Tobeyaki family” had a talkabout their evaluation methods on the colors of the test pieces.
Our research started from “Umechanzu”. “Ginnanze” established RPG method and will beused in the future research presentations. Therefore, at the study meeting, “Koume brothers” consisting of the 1stgrade students discussed whether to use a tool called Go Spectro to analyzereflected lights in our research. Weborrowed the tool from Professor Hayashi, who is in charge of EGS at EhimeUniversity. It is used to analyze the reflected lights and it may be possibleto find the elements that affect the reflected lights.
Analyzing the data and comparing them, thediscussion lasted for more than two hours. We decided to use both of the RPGmethod and Gospectro.
In the future, “Tobeyaki family” will worktogether to report our research to everyone. ( 109HR Rin Miyamoto )
