about Matsuyama Minami High School

Ehime Prefectural Matsuyama Minami High School has been designated as a Super Science High School (SSH) by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology since 2002. We have been researching and developing programs for science education in cooperation with universities and research institutes. We try to bring fascinating and inspiring science activities not only to our students but also to the local community. Each of our students does a great deal of individual research, and because of their strenuous effort, they have won prizes in various kinds of science fairs.

February 9th Super High School Consortium in Ehime

2019年2月11日 11時29分

Science course students participated in “Ehime Job Challenge U-15 Festa in Chuyo district” and “Ehime Super High Schools Consortium” held at Himegin Hall on February 9 (Saturday).  The students of our school and Tobe branch school gave the poster presentation of "Developing accessories of Tobe-yaki using ginkgo ash," one of the projects of "High School Development program, living and growing in local communities."  For the first graders of “Ginkgo group”, it was the first time to give a presentation in front of a large number of people, and they felt really nervous. Many people got interested in it and heard it.
Second graders of “Droplets of Water Group” gave a presentation at the stage.  The presentation was easy for everyone to understand.  So, not only high school students but also junior high school students asked us questions.  Second graders positively asked SGH students some questions in English and it surprised the audience.
