September 2nd(Mon)“Codon Letter Project” organized by Kansai University
2019年11月8日 07時01分 Codon is the genetic code which is the set of rules used by living cells to translate information encoded within genetic material into proteins. Our school has joined “Codon Letter Project” organized by Kansai University since this April. This time, high school students living in other prefectures joined this project and wrote 20 codon letters in code. Students decoded them in pairs. Dr. Toda, a professor at Kansai university and Dr. Honda, a professor at Otsuma women’s university visited our school. Students discussed how to decipher codes efficiently in pairs. They deciphered their codon letters having fun. After that, they introduced their decoded codon letters to other groups using “Loi Lo Note.” They tried deciphering codon letters they couldn’t read in collaboration. Through these experience they felt mysteries of translation that was carried out in a human body. They got motivated to deepen their understandings.
